Quality control to test the quality of medicines supplied by suppliers is a key element of drug management by NWRFHP PIG. The Fund carries out quality control of about 25% of all medicines it supplies. In 2015 a quality control laboratory was set up and out of 06 samples of medicines tested 04 samples were acceptable while 02 samples failed quality control and were rejected from entry into the system. This has given the population the confidence that drugs supplied by the organisation are of good quality.
This service takes over the control of quality of medicines first assured by working with the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services in Mutegene and Centre Pasteur in Yaounde.
